They certainly rocked that boat. Food Network personality Alton Brown is married.
The bestselling author and Iron Chef host married fiancee Elizabeth Ingram on a boat located in Charleston, South Carolina. Brown revealed the news on Monday with a photo of their dog, Abigail, toasting to the occasion.
“Mom and dad got married on a boat and all I got was a glass of weird fizzy stuff,” Brown captioned a photo of the puppy and a glass of champagne.
Ingram is an interior designer who works on restaurants and other spaces in Atlanta, Georgia. Interestingly enough, she is also cousins with “Why Can’t I” hitmaker Liz Phair, who also congratulated the couple on the intimate occasion.
“Wedding bells in the family yesterday!” Phair wrote. “Congratulations to my beautiful cousin Beth and her love, @altonbrown xoxo I wish I could have been there!”
After the seaside ceremony, Brown and Ingram hosted their reception at popular Charleston restaurant Chubby Fish.
“The food, based on local by-catch, was one of the best meals I can remember,” he expressed. “The shrimp and rice was my favorite, though I obviously didn’t get a clear shot of it.”
The couple first met after Brown had hired Ingram to decorate his new loft in Marietta, Georgia. “At some point, meetings turned into dates,” he told Architectural Digest. “I’m not going to lie, and I can’t put my finger on when it was—I started looking forward to seeing her more than the space.”
