His wedding, his way. Food Network star Alton Brown married interior designer Elizabeth Ingram this weekend on a boat in Charleston, and their wedding style was certainly their own staring with an outdoor boat ceremony.
The bride and groom both stepped out for the sunny seaside occasion wearing boat-friendly white sneakers. Brown chose a tan suit and a Panama hat, while his wife opted for a breezy camisole-slip dress with lace embellishments. She accessorized her outfit with a beach-friendly scarf.
“Yeah, we wore sneakers,” he wrote. “#mybouquetwasabloodymary.” (Indeed, Brown held a Bloody Mary in his hand for the photo opportunity.)
The beloved Iron Chef host first met Ingram after she was tapped to remodel and redesign his new Georgia loft. “At some point, meetings turned into dates,” he previously told Architectural Digest. “I’m not going to lie, and I can’t put my finger on when it was—I started looking forward to seeing her more than the space.”
The couple hosted their wedding reception at a sustainable seafood restaurant known as Chubby Fish. Brown announced his marriage news on Monday alongside a cute photo of his puppy with a glass of bubbly.
“Mom and dad got married on a boat and all I got was a glass of weird fizzy stuff,” Brown captioned the photo.
