A wedding is coming… like, now. Game of Thrones stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are getting married this weekend. The couple, whose real-life romance famously developed after their characters fell in love on the smash HBO fantasy series, will exchange vows in Scotland on Saturday, June 23, according to a marriage notice posted in May.
BBC News reported that the June 23 date was announced by the local registration office, and the wedding itself will take place at Wardhill Castle, a family home of the bride. The historic venue is a 12th century castle that is located a short distance away from the Leslie family’s current home. The notice, according to another British outlet, read that “Christopher Catesby Harington” will wed “Rose Eleanor Arbuthnot Leslie.”
Of course the majority of the Game of Thrones cast and crew will be invited to join the festivities. “Their wedding is going to be siiiiick,” co-star Emilia Clarke told Vanity Fair in a recent cover story.
The pair first met in 2012, while filming their scenes in Iceland. They opted to remain low-key with their romance until 2016 when they stepped out for their first public appearance together.
However, the typically hush-hush couple went wide with their engagement in September 2017, when their families announced the future marriage within a tiny snippet in the Times UK newspaper. “The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughter of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire,” the bulletin read.
