While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle rode off into the sunset in a refurbished blue Jaguar, newlyweds Kit Harington and Rose Leslie opted for a sturdy, throwback vehicle to lead them through the streets of Aberdeen, Scotland after their nuptials on June 23.
Harington adorably walked his new wife to the passenger seat and helped her into large compact vehicle. The actor then took to the drivers seat as the two drove off together towards their afterparty at her family’s home of Wardhill Castle.
The Game of Thrones stars opted for a classic Land Rover Defender 90 in the color blue as their wedding getaway car. The front portion of the car was decorated with white ribbon and a “Just Married” sign with each letter written on a heart cut-out.
The rear of the vehicle included a “Just Married” appliqué in the window as well as cans attached to bright red string trailing behind. The car itself included a blue Scottish flag, though the owner of the vehicle remains unknown.
The couple married at the Rayne Church in Kirkton in Aberdeen on Saturday before a star-studded guest list that included many of their Game of Thrones co-stars.
“We are absolutely thrilled for Kit and Rose to be marrying today,” Sebastian Leslie, the father of the bride, told Sky News on his way into the ceremony with his daughter. The bride looked resplendent in a lace gown by Elie Saab.
