Garth Brooks must have weddings on his mind. The country superstar’s youngest daughter, Allie, experienced the birthday of a lifetime this weekend at her dad’s show at the Forum in Los Angeles when her boyfriend proposed backstage.
The “Friends in Low Places” hitmaker, 55, was in on the secret, first having Allie join him onstage at his show. After she performed alongside her famous father, Allie experienced a little surprise when Brooks had the audience serenade her on her 21st birthday.
The music scion then made her way backstage, where another grand gesture awaited–in the form of a proposal. Allie’s boyfriend Jonathan Roberts was prepared with an engagement ring and the timing was impeccable. He asked her to marry him as Brooks sang one of his hits, “She’s Every Woman.”
Of course, Roberts had someone document the surprise from an opportune angle. In one video, Allie covers her face in disbelief after her soon-to-be fiancé drops to one knee.
Roberts later took to Facebook to share a few photos from the memory. “She said YES!!!!,” the future Brooks family in-law wrote. “I’m beyond blessed to have this beautiful woman in my life.” He then rounded out the post with a nod to his future father-in-law, quoting lyrics from “She’s Every Woman.”
“She’s anything but typical,” he wrote. “She’s so unpredictable.”
Just last week, Brooks made headlines after buying two newlywed fans pricey gifts off their wedding registry, something he had promised when they recently attended his show. “Me and Mrs. Yearwood, we’ll get it for you,” he assured the couple last month. Both the singer and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, maintained that promise and lavished the pair with presents.
Brooks shares Allie and two other daughters with his first wife.
