Here comes the Gigi! Supermodel Gigi Hadid stunned on the red carpet of the 2016 American Music Awards prior to co-hosting the annual awards show held Sunday, November 20, in Los Angeles.
Hadid, 21, captivated the star-studded carpet outside of the Microsoft Theater when she appeared on Sunday in a white, sheer, paneled, off-the-shoulder, floor-length gown that made the model appear wedding-ready.
The dainty lace piece by Roberto Cavalli included a stylish train. Hadid paired her outfit with a metallic choker, and styled tresses with a voluminous blowout. The Victoria’s Secret model topped her sweet look with a pop of pink lip color.
“It’s a bit different to kind of what I have in the show,” she told E! News prior to the show. “But I think that’s why I wanted to do it for the carpet. It is kind of its own moment.”
However, Sunday wasn’t the best day for Hadid to wear the pristine piece on the red carpet. Los Angeles was hit with torrential downpour, which caused some wardrobe complications for stars lining the typically-sunny step-and-repeat.
“It’s the first time it’s rained in L.A. in months,” noted Hadid, who’s dating former One Direction heartthrob Zayn Malik. “You know what happens when you put red, wetness and white together.”
Cavalli’s Peter Dundas has been no stranger in the bridal world this past year. The visionary custom-designed Ciara’s wedding dress in her castle wedding to Russell Wilson in July.
“He was with me every step of the way in the process, and he contributed to help me feel like the most beautiful girl on that day,” Ciara recalled to #Legend magazine last month. “He made me feel my most beautiful with that gown and that’s exactly what I wanted. How I wanted my hair, my make-up, and it’s a true blessing to have Peter make my dress. It was my dream dress. My dress, everything, my family and friends that were there, the man I was marrying, everything was absolutely a dream come true.”
