When Girl With No Job Claudia Oshry approached her wedding planner, she had three basic requests. “All I wanted him to know was ‘fun, young and vibrant,’” Oshry tells The Knot. “I can never do it myself or envision it myself, so I didn’t really know what I wanted. So I just said some stuff and Josh made it into this.”
Oshry, who runs massively popular meme account Girl With No Job, is working with Brooklyn-based party planner and designer Joshua Spiegel. “We wanted something young, fresh and very elegant,” says Spiegel, the President and Creative Director at Birch Event Design. “She gave us a color scheme and we made this all happen.”
The seasoned event planner used several design elements like mirrored tables, and floral centerpieces he refers to as a “cloud of heaven”—an abundant pillow of roses channeling the sky.
“We went ahead with the mirrored table… The leg of the table, which you’re gonna see near the dance floor is a very traditional style,” he says. “We brought in traditional chargers and traditional glass—to create the modern [aesthetic] mixed with the traditional. It’s this combination of keeping it young, keeping it fresh, keeping it timeless.”
The Knot was with Oshry when she got the first look into what Spiegel had designed for her with his team. “Shook,” the Instagram influencer says of her initial thoughts. “I can never do it myself or envision it myself, so I didn’t really know what I wanted… I just said some stuff and Josh made it into this.”
She will marry fiancé Ben Soffer in New York City this weekend. The couple first met through mutual friends and recently celebrated four years together.
Stay tuned with The Knot for all the details from their wedding.
