Move over March madness, it’s all about marriage for a newlywed celebrity couple. Glee actress Lea Michele married fiancé Zandy Reich in an intimate wedding on Saturday, March 9.
The couple shared the first photo from their Northern California nuptials with People, telling the mag: “We are so excited to be married and grateful to be surrounded by our friends and family. And most of all, we’re so happy to spend the rest of our lives together.”
Reich proposed to Michele on the beach in the Hamptons last spring. The retail exec popped the question the question with a four-carat, radiant-cut diamond ring that he had designed with a celeb jeweler.
“I was so surprised, I kept saying, ‘Stop joking around, stop joking around!’” Michele said on Watch What Happens Live of the proposal. “I keep thinking it’s borrowed and I have to give it back at some point.”

Michele’s wedding style changed at a few points throughout the planning process. “It’s actually so much fun,” Michele told E! News of creating the vision for her ceremony and reception. “I think for something like those two things, I’m probably going to lean towards some white sand and blue oceans. You know, relaxing and fun and of course I love exploring and I love traveling.”
Of course, travel played an integral role in the couple’s relationship after they discovered they were compatible in that aspect. “When you’re meeting someone, you have to see right off the gate how they travel and if you travel well together,” Michele previously told People. “Luckily, when we first met, we realized that we do travel well together. That is a big relationship key I think.”
Jonathan Groff was previously tapped to serve as Michele’s man of honor. Stars like Emma Roberts, Jamie Lynn Sigler and Joanna Garcia Swisher also recently supported Michele during her bachelorette party in February. The actress opted for a wellness-inspired getaway in Kalihiwai Bay, Hawaii, which included amenities like an on-site chef.
