Gwen Stefani took a break from her busy tour schedule to stop by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday, September 23.
The “Make Me Like You” singer spoke with the daytime talk show host about being on the road with her three sons, Kingston, 10, Zuma, 8, and Apollo, 2. She described her This Is What the Truth Feels Like Tour experience as “spiritual” and “magical.”
Stefani, who’s old friends with DeGeneres, couldn’t evade questions about her famous boyfriend, Blake Shelton. In true Ellen style, the comedian caught the former No Doubt lead singer off-guard when she asked about the couple’s plans to marry.
“Before I make plans – because I make plans way ahead of time – tell me when you’re getting married,” DeGeneres said innocently. “I just need to know, so I can clear that schedule,” she joked.
“Oh, you’re crazy,” Stefani replied, shaking her head and smiling.
After a hilariously awkward moment between friends, DeGeneres surrendered — or so Stefani thought.
“Just let me know,” the talk show host urged the singer.
“Okay, I’ll let you know,” Stefani agreed.
“No, now,” DeGeneres shot back quickly, making her good friend laugh.
Shelton, 40, and Stefani may be keeping details in their relationship under wraps, but their romance appears to be thriving. Shelton – who recently returned as a coach for season 11 of The Voice – has received many visits from his girlfriend on set.
Stefani, meanwhile, is not participating in the current season of the Emmy Award-winning NBC singing competition, but she’s certain that the newest coaches, Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys, will do an amazing job.
She’s also kept in touch with fellow Voice coach, Adam Levine, since they worked together on seasons 7 and 9. She told DeGeneres that the Maroon 5 singer had been FaceTiming her following the birth of his new baby, Dusty Rose, with his model wife, Behati Prinsloo. The news of Levine and Prinsloo’s new family addition broke on Thursday, September 22.
Stefani, who has four stops left in her ongoing tour, is also currently working closely with Justin Timberlake on the animated musical comedy film, Trolls. Stefani – who will be the voice of DJ Suki in the film – was shocked to find out Timberlake would be working on the project with her. He had written her a song for the movie, which she instantly fell in love with.
“It was so me,” Stefani said of the track.”[We] got to record it, and it’s gonna be in the movie. I love him,” she said of Timberlake.
Shelton has also been juggling multiple commitments. He wraps his own tour on October 8, and he’s currently filming The Voice in Los Angeles.
