It’s here! Gwyneth Paltrow’s wedding album is officially live (on Goop of course) and it was finally revealed Friday, November 2, that the Oscar winner chose a gown by Valentino for her Hamptons nuptials to producer Brad Falchuk.
Paltrow debuted the first photo from her wedding on Instagram, sharing additional details with her lifestyle site and Vogue. The couple debuted a joyous snapshot of themselves grinning and greeting their guests underneath a cloud of leaves and petals.
“Took me a minute to get it together, but at long last, for those who have requested, a little look inside the best day of our lives,” she wrote on social media.
Photographer John Dolan captured the entire wedding weekend, starting with the bride’s 46th birthday celebration on Thursday.
A rehearsal dinner followed on Friday at Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld’s East Hampton home, where Paltrow tapped Argentinian chef Francis Mallman to create a “fire menu” complete with a live barbecue.
The actress also worked with Putnam & Putnam to create a beautifully wild theme complete with berry, fig and plum centerpieces. The New York City-based team also designed the florals for the couple’s wedding day, with the arrangements eventually donated to Repeat Roses for a worthy cause.
The wedding ceremony took place outdoors on Paltrow’s property on Saturday before just 70 people. Her Valentino gown by Pierpaolo Piccioli was a cap-sleeve piece that included a swiss dot pattern. The groom and the junior groomsmen (including their sons) wore Tom Ford.
Cameron Diaz and other A-listers attended the nuptials (one image from the Goop slideshow reveals Diaz getting her makeup done alongside Paltrow the morning of the nuptials).
Renowned chef Mario Carbone was tasked with the wedding reception menu while Brooklyn-based Nine Cakes was tapped to create the couple’s cake.
The intimate occasion took place underneath a tent in a garden surrounded by lush greenery. Robert Downey Jr. was photographed delivering a toast to the couple while Paltrow’s expression suggested its rather entertaining contents. Paltrow and Falchuk served Ruinart’s rosé champagne.
This is the second marriage for Paltrow, who eloped with Chris Martin in 2003. The wedding planning process, therefore, was entirely new to the bride, who told Vogue: “So even though I’m 45, I sort of feel like a 21-year-old.”
According to the mag, the pair then enjoyed a minimoon in Umbria, Italy, and Paris.
In Marie Claire UK’s November 2018 issue, Paltrow noted: “I think that marriage is a really beautiful, noble and worthwhile institution, pursuit and endeavor. Because I don’t think you get married and that’s it—I think it’s the beginning. You create this third entity, this third being that you have to nourish and look after.”
