The superstar couple, who surprised fans everywhere when they got engaged in July, is now planning their wedding and slowly marking tasks off their checklist. Something Baldwin has learned to tune out is the criticism—especially given her young age.
“My sister was 24 when she got married, and my parents also got married when they were young, too,” Baldwin, 22, told The Cut on Thursday, September 13. “I see no reason to wait. When you know it’s right, it’s right.”
In fact, she’s even placed that question on her parents, Stephen and Kennya Baldwin, in case they objected to the natural progression of her romance. “I said to them, ‘You’d stop me if you didn’t think this was the right decision, right? And they didn’t,” she added. “I think they love him more than me!”
Baldwin wants a romantic, dreamy aesthetic for her wedding theme. “I just picture lights strung everywhere,” she added. “I think having it in the woods would be so beautiful.”
The model also revealed in the conversation that she has a wedding planner currently scouting locations on the West Coast. It’s unclear whether the couple will marry in the U.S. or Bieber’s native Canada, where sources originally said he wanted to marry.
Along with that, Baldwin has figured out her wedding party, starting with her sister Alaia Baldwin, who married in the Hudson Valley of New York in 2017. “My sister will be my bridesmaid,” Hailey confirmed in her interview. “I was hers last year. And maybe Justin’s little sister as a flower girl. Is 10 too old?”
Both Hailey and cousin Ireland Baldwin were bridesmaids in the elegant upstate affair held at Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Guests included Christie Brinkley and more members of the famous Hollywood family.
