Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber are in no rush to walk down the aisle—in part, because they’re already legally married. Despite originally planning for a January celebration, and then an early March wedding, the couple is currently postponing their big, fancy wedding indefinitely, without any concrete plans nailed down just yet. And that’s just fine, Hailey’s older sister Alaia said.
Alaia was asked this week about the status of the young couple’s plans. “We will see,” she told Us Weekly. “Who knows what their plans are. They’re very up and down, so I just, I’ll be there at some point in a dress, in sweats—we don’t know!”
Baldwin, 22, and Bieber, 25, secretly got married at a courthouse in New York City in September, with plans to throw a larger fete to celebrate with all of their family and friends in early 2019. The logistics of getting all their loved ones in one place, and even on one coast, was too much to bear, however, and they pushed their initial January date back a few months to March.
In February, however, Bieber began seeing a therapist to better himself emotionally and mentally, and wedding plans were once again put on hold. “They will still have a wedding eventually, but this is not their focus right now,” a source told People in March. “They haven’t sent out any new save-the-dates. They will wait until Justin feels better and is excited about planning their wedding again.”
Though planning seems to be on a hiatus for the time being, Baldwin is already familiar with weddings after serving as the maid of honor in Alaia’s September 2017 nuptials.

The future bride has also hinted at the sort of wedding she envisions whenever the time is right. “I just picture lights strung everywhere,” she previously told The Cut of her dream ceremony. “I think having it in the woods would be so beautiful.”
