Retiring those stripes with his wife. Legendary Yankees player Derek Jeter was honored at Yankee Stadium on Sunday, May 14, and joining him for the momentous occasion was his pregnant wife, Hannah Jeter.

The former shortstop, 42, whose famed No. 2 jersey was retired Sunday, was greeted by a roar of applause as he adoringly held hands with his supermodel spouse. The future mom beamed in a blush pink dress that flattered her burgeoning baby bump, and warded off the cold spring weather with a matching nude coat.

Prior to the night, Jeter took to his publication, The Player’s Tribune, to express his gratitude to fans for their unwavering support. “Thank you, New York, for asking a lot of me. For challenging me,” the athlete wrote last week. “For giving this kid a place to grow up. I wasn’t born a New Yorker — you asked me to earn it. I wasn’t born a Yankee, but you made me into one.”

Jeter has won five World Series championships, and was captain of the team for a whopping 11 years. His devotion to the Yankees spanned two decades. “When you play here in New York for 20 years, I learned that the time flies, memories fade, but the family is forever,” he said as he threw out the first pitch on Sunday. “And I’ll be eternally grateful to be a part of the Yankees family.”

However, he’s now focusing on expanding his own with Hannah. The couple, who married last summer in Napa Valley, revealed in February that they’re expecting their first child together after Hannah penned a sweet essay for The Player’s Tribune. “He already has a name in mind — he’s set on it. (We’ll see.) He’ll say when he calls me during the day,” she wrote. “‘So, how are you and so-and-so doing?’ ‘That’s not the name yet, sweetie.’ Whatever her name is, I know she’ll run circles around him.”

The model, 26, who’s largely private about their relationship, also detailed their love story–and why it worked. (Prior to meeting Hannah Davis, Jeter reveled in singlehood, dating some of Hollywood’s biggest names.)

“We met at the right time,” she wrote. “To me, what matters in a relationship is being at the same place in your lives. And right from the start, I could tell that the timing of Derek’s life and mine were aligned. The truth is: Just as Derek had lived a whole life before he’d met me, I’d lived a whole life before I’d met Derek. Where we’d been, where we were and where we wanted to go—everything just seemed to fit.”
