Swoon so hard. Vampire Diaries hunk Ian Somerhalder is clearly enjoying his marriage with his wife, Nikki Reed.
The actor recently spoke to Modern Luxury about falling for his future wife, and the origins of their love story had a lot to do with timing. “The second we were around each other, and not [dating] other people, we just knew,” Somerhalder revealed.
The CW heartthrob and his wife, who’ve both portrayed vampires on-screen, bonded off-screen over their respective philanthropic causes. In April 2015, the couple exchanged vows at sunset in Topanga Canyon, California. The bride looked beautiful in a lace gown by Claire Pettibone, while the groom wore a white bespoke suit.
“I am so blessed that I did, indeed, find this human being that can deal with me,” Somerhalder added to the mag in his new interview. “[She] is also the most caring, compassionate person I’ve ever known. That’s why I wake up happy.”
Eventually, Somerhalder and his wife would like to expand their family. “Oh, I will one day have amazing children with my beautiful wife,” the Lost alum noted. “Absolutely, definitely. I live with someone who strives to find happiness and peace in the smallest things – whether it’s sitting for five minutes under a tree or getting out into the country and spending time on our horses or even just going for a walk around the lake or riding a boat.”
