He’s still close to her heart. Iman opened up to Good Morning America this week in her first interview since her husband, David Bowie, passed away in January.

“I’m holding up,” the supermodel, 61, told Joe Zee on Wednesday, September 7, at Tom Ford’s New York Fashion Week show. “I’m holding up. Today was [the] first day of school.”

Iman has been coping with the couple’s 16-year-old daughter, Alexandria Zahra Jones, since the legendary singer’s death.

At the event, Iman wore a dainty gold necklace designed by Hedi Slimane. The piece was inscribed by the word, “David,” in honor of her husband.

“I’m wearing this until my death,” noted the model, who also lost her mother in 2016. “So, it’s been a tough year but I’m holding up.”

The couple was married for 24 years before he passed away at age 69. In June, Iman shared a sweet Instagram message to mark their wedding anniversary. “June 6th….24th wedding anniversary,” the fashion icon captioned a photo with the beloved singer. “#foreverlove.”
