Mini Cooper has a name! Bradley Cooper and supermodel Irina Shayk quietly welcomed their first child together several weeks ago, and the proud new parents have reportedly bestowed a beautiful name upon their baby girl.
That’s right. According to E! News, the notoriously private pair have welcomed a baby daughter to their family. A source told the outlet that the little one’s name is fittingly French— Lea de Seine Shayk Cooper.
“They are both extremely thrilled and feel so blessed,” the insider said.
The little one’s name is part-French and part-Hebrew or Greek. “Lea” is translated in Hebrew from Leah in the Bible, who was the first wife of Jacob. The name in Hebrew means “delicate,” while in Greek it translates to “bringer of good news.”
Her middle name, “de Seine,” of course refers to the famed Seine River in Paris. Cooper is fluent in French, and his love for the country stems from when he studied abroad in Provence for six months while he was a student at Georgetown.
The Silver Linings Playbook actor and Shayk have been together since spring 2015. Their pregnancy news was revealed last fall when Shayk walked the runway of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Paris—baby bump in tow.
Shortly after her pregnancy reveal, Shayk was spotted wearing a brilliant emerald and diamond jewel on her left ring finger fueling engagement speculation.
A source told People that Cooper was “more protective” over the Russian supermodel since her pregnancy. “He has been spotted dropping her off at the airport with kisses as she is about to take off for another job,” one insider said. “They are just a very sweet couple.”
