Jason Aldean is playing it safe when it comes to his wedding band. While the award-winning country artist does have a traditional ring, he tucks it away for safekeeping – opting to wear a rubberized version to keep his ring finger safe.

“If I’m hunting or whatever and it gets hung on something, it will just rip the ring off,” Aldean, 39, recently told CMT News. He explained that wearing a rubber band alleviates that worry.

“It won’t rip your finger off,” he mused. “It’s comfortable. I can play sports or do whatever, and it doesn’t scratch my guitar.”

The country crooner – who is currently serving as Academy of Country Music’s entertainer of the year – has an array of silicone bands from a company called Qalo. Their popular rings – which are a steal at only $20-25 – come in a variety of designs, including camo and purple sparkles. They have an outdoors collection as well as athletic options.

Aldean and his inexpensive ring collection are currently on the road. The “Lights Come On” singer is in the midst of his Six String Circus tour.

And the talented singer has something much more valuable by his side. His wife, Brittany Kerr, is currently touring the country with her famous hubby, according to People.

It seems the duo – who married back in March 2015 – may be thinking of growing their family. “I know she would like to have at least one kid,” Aldean shared of his bride’s wishes. “I love kids and being a dad is one of the best things in the world for me. If it’s meant to happen, it will. Only time will tell,” he added.

Aldean has two daughters from a previous marriage, Keeley, 13, and Kendyl, 9. He has no doubt his children would be thrilled to have a baby brother or sister. “Keeley’s always been a mother hen type with babies, so we’d have a built-in babysitter!” he said. “And Kendyl has always been the little sister, so for her to be the big sister, I think she’d be pretty stoked.”
