Wood you accept this present? Five years ago, The Hills’ standout Kristin Cavallari and NFL player Jay Cutler married in a scenic Nashville wedding, welcoming all sorts of changes to their lifestyles and careers since 2013. The two are now parents to three young children, but with each passing year, they’ve maintained tradition at least in one way: staying true to anniversary gift themes.

In time for their fifth anniversary, the pair strictly adhered to the “wood gift” guideline, which was revealed by Cavallari on Tuesday, June 12. “I’m horrible at gift giving,” she admitted to E! News. “He made me a wooden swing for our new house and he engraved it. Which was really sweet.”

“I got him whiskey toothpicks made out of wood,” she added. “I’m like, ‘God, I’m so lame.’ He put a lot of thought into it and I just went to the store and picked up whatever wood stuff I could find. It’s pathetic.” Thankfully, with Father’s Day coming up this weekend (the spouses share three kids), Cavallari planned a date night with her husband to an upcoming Ray LaMontagne concert.

Ohhh to be young. 5 years of marriage with him ❤️

On her actual anniversary, Cavallari posted a photo from a romantic dinner with her husband. “Ohhh to be young. 5 years of marriage with him,” she wrote.

The couple married at Houston Station in Nashville in 2013. They celebrated their honeymoon along the Amalfi Coast.

“While in Tuscany, we went for a hot air balloon ride early one morning,” Cavallari previously told The Knot of her favorite moment. “And it was the most beautiful and exhilarating experience I’ve ever had.”
