Actress Jenna Dewan is engaged to boyfriend (and future co-parent-of-her-child) Steve Kazee, the couple revealed via Instagram Tuesday, February 18.
“A lifetime to love and grow with you,” Dewan wrote on social media, alongside a dreamy photo of the pair kissing. “You have my heart.”
“When you wake in the morning I will kiss your face with a smile no one has ever seen,” Kazee expressed on Instagram, citing song lyrics. “When you wake in the morning I will kiss your eyes and say it’s you I have loved all these years.”
Kazee, an actor and Tony Award winner, proposed with an elongated diamond set on a yellow gold band. He received help from Dewan’s pal, actress Nikki Reed, who runs a jewelry brand called Bayou With Love. The company sources ethical stones and diamonds and uses recycled metal within its pieces. “Steve, making this with you was such a beautiful experience,” the Twilight actress-turned-designer wrote on Instagram Stories. “Thank you for loving Jenna the way you do.”
According to Blue Nile, the ring is about 2.5 to 3 carats in size and estimated to be about $60,000 in value. “The intricate details of the sunken halo add extra sparkle and emphasize the length of the stone,” says ring expert Taylor Peterson. “Jenna Dewan’s ring is truly reflective of two major trends we expect to continue through 2020.”
Dewan also posted a sweet story from the exact moment when Kazee popped the question. In the image, Dewan looks shocked as Kazee emotionally drops to one knee. “This moment,” she wrote, alongside a photo.

The newly-engaged pair is currently expecting their first child together. Dewan is also mom to 6-year-old daughter Everly, whom she shares with ex-husband Channing Tatum.
While Dewan and Kazee have been relatively tight-lipped about the romance in general, they have been rather affectionate across social media. “My whole 🖤,” Kazee expressed on Valentine’s Day. “I love you. Thank you for being in my life. Thank you for letting me be in your daughters life. Thank you for bringing this new little life into the world. Thank you for loving me like you have. You have healed me with your heart. Happy Valentines Day.”
The announcement of their engagement comes just five months after Dewan’s pregnancy was first confirmed. Dewan, thankfully, has Reed to rely on for wedding planning advice. The actress, who married Vampire Diaries actor Ian Somerhalder in a surprise 2015 wedding, revealed her top tips for engaged couples.
“When I have friends who are getting married, my wedding day advice is to please make sure you actually bring on a videographer,” she previously told The Knot. “That’s the advice I give because weddings go by so fast. You’re there to say hi to everybody and you’re there to enjoy the moment—but it’s all a blur. People are talking to you.”
