Thanksgiving 2016 was a special celebration for Jennifer Aniston. While visiting The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday, November 29, the Emmy Award-winning actress revealed the sweet way her husband, Justin Theroux, surprised her on the holiday.
“My husband–who’s been away for almost a year–surprised me on Thanksgiving,” Aniston, 47, told the daytime talk show host. “[He] came home from Germany. It was really sweet.”
Despite the distance, the Office Christmas Party star had spent quality time with Theroux the week leading up to the holiday. Sadly, her husband, 45, told the star that his schedule was “completely booked” during the week of Thanksgiving, and he wouldn’t make it home for the festivities.
Aniston shared that she and Theroux host a “Friendsgiving” each year for friends who have no place to go. The A-lister continued the tradition this year despite her husband’s absence, but her guests were disappointed when she broke the news that Theroux wouldn’t be there.
“You just saw everybody’s face just start to fall,” Aniston recalled. “The whole room was, like, depressed. I was like, ‘Guys, I’m here. I understand that Justin’s not here, but it’s gonna be okay! We’ll have it next year.”
After giving an “unimpressive” toast before the feast, Aniston was shocked when her husband walked into the room. “Next thing ya know, [the] turkey walks in, and there was another turkey holding that turkey. That was my hubby. He came in with the turkey,” the Friends alum adorably recalled.
During her visit to The Ellen Show, Aniston agreed to dress in a sumo suit similar to the suits her co-stars, Jason Bateman and Olivia Munn, wear in Office Christmas Party. The actress joined DeGeneres for a game of “sumo charades.”

“I think the pregnancy rumors are gonna start again… She’s got a baby bump,” the host joked when the women walked onstage donning the massive costumes. During the hilarious game, Aniston attempted to jump rope, shimmy, and twerk. See the video below.
