Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence was just one celebrity to witness Amy Schumer’s intimate nuptials to Chris Fisher this week, but she was an especially emotional guest.
Lawrence revealed that her typically humorous disposition shifted while watching the pair exchange vows. “It was beautiful,” the Red Sparrow actress told Entertainment Tonight. “It was very sudden, but it was, I was sobbing the whole [time].”
The couple opted to exchange vows outdoors on the terrace of a private home in Malibu. About 80 guests including celebs like Jake Gyllenhaal, Chelsea Handler, Larry David, and more were there to support Schumer and her new husband.
“His vows were stunning,” Lawrence continued. “It’s when two people really love each other and they really mean it, it shows, and it was a beautiful ceremony and an amazing time. I couldn’t be happier for them.”
Schumer confirmed the nuptial news on Thursday alongside several social media posts. Lawrence wore a wedding-appropriate number for the wedding—a midi-length, blush pink, pleated dress by Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini featuring a black belt—which she recycled after first wearing it on the red carpet of The Hollywood Reproter’s 2017 Women in Entertainment Breakfast.
“Notice my shirt was accidentally undone the whole time,” she concluded. “In every wedding photo all of my buttons were undone. It looks like I was like, ‘Oh, you thought this was going to be about you?'”
