Peter Pan’s most legendary lost boy Jeremy Sumpter has stolen our hearts again by releasing his and fiancee Lauren Pacheco’s romantic engagement photos for all of the world – including Neverland – to see.
“I asked her to marry me on December 14, 2015, by the ocean on Canary Row in Monterey, California,” the 27-year-old actor shared. But they weren’t fully alone. Someone caught him in the act of proposing! “And afterwards some guy came out of the restaurant and said he saw the whole thing and ended up taking a beautiful picture for us,” Sumpter said.
And with the photo that will forever remain their first non-selfie engagement picture, the couple headed to dinner at The C Restaurant And Bar. “After that I took her inside and we had an intimate dinner together since we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves!”
Shortly after getting engaged, Sumpter and Pacheco hosted a small backyard engagement party in California. Amidst their celebrations, they paused for a moment to take a breathtakingly romantic engagement photo shoot with photographer Robert Keller.
Pacheco wore a cream-colored cocktail dress with delicate champagne lace details, and Sumpter dressed in a black suit and blue dress shirt. The two shared in a classic dip – Pacheco grinning ear-to-ear as her fiance is caught stealing a kiss.
The couple shared in a celebratory champagne toast with golden glasses gifted by Anthropologie’s wedding line BHLDN as the sun set behind them. They even recreated their proposal for a photograph Sumpter shared on Twitter on March 4, writing, “Here’s what’s happening Twitter… I’m engaged to the most amazing woman I’ve ever known,” finishing off the tweet by tagging his fiancee with a smiley face and “#happy.”
According to this Instagram photo from the actor, the couple’s February 13 backyard cocktail party ended with, “Two families coming together through the love and faith of @laurentpacheco and I.” Adding that he really liked the after-dark group photo of the families together, the groom-to-be finished the caption with an adorable, “#soontobesumpters.”
“As of now we’re are keeping our wedding plans, date, location, etc. private,” Sumpter told The Knot, but hinted that as the adoring pair get closer to their mystery “big day,” more shall be revealed!
With Sumpter not being one to let a Peter Pan reference slip by, the actor tweeted, “Starting to really miss my little princess @LaurenTPacheco right now… Maybe I’ll fly to her window tonight,” shortly after the couple’s engagement. Perhaps a nod to Pan and other famous fairytales will appear in the shadows of their wedding? We can’t wait to see!
