Five and oh-so-fine. Modern Family actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita married in a luxe, star-studded New York City ceremony back in 2013, and to mark 5 years of marriage, the two are currently enjoying a getaway to Miami where they recreated a popular, couple-beloved Instagram pose on social media.
Mikita tweeted a photo of his hand gripping Ferguson’s hand as they make their way down a sandy path that opens up to pure blue ocean water. “Strolling into our 5 year wedding anniversary like….” he expressed.
The pose has become an Instagram staple made famous by a couple who sparked the social media movement back in 2013 with their “#FollowMeTo” hashtag. The pair,
Murad Osmann and Natalia Zakharova, eventually married and continue to travel through beautiful destinations with the famous pose.
Ferguson and Mikita married in a star-studded wedding at SoHo loft-style event venue 82 Mercer in July 2013. Guests included his co-stars Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Eric Stonestreet, and additional celeb pals like Rebecca Romijn, Zachary Quinto and Nigel Barker.
Ferguson previously opened up to The Knot about the significance of his relationship while discussing the anniversary of the legalization of same-sex marriage.
“I love being able to introduce Justin as my husband,” he said. “It’s a word everyone knows the meaning of. It means the world to me to be married to the person I love. There’s not a day that I don’t wake up and acknowledge how lucky I am to not only be married but to be married to someone who means so much to me.”
