She’s the MVP of bridesmaids! Jessie James Decker is committed to making her younger sister’s wedding extra special. The country singer spoke to The Knot last month about being the matron of honor in her sibling Sydney’s upcoming wedding to Anthony Bass, and she’s already rocking the role.
“I’m so excited for her,” Decker, 28, told us at a Ritz event in NYC. “Her wedding’s very different than mine. We had to plan everything right down to the flowers. I think she’s really smart to do a destination wedding… And it’s going to be absolutely stunning.”
The Southern beauty, who married NFL player Eric Decker in 2013, said she was tasked with designing the bridesmaids dresses. “She asked me,” Decker noted. “I mean, these are so beautiful. They’re all the same color— a shade of pink. They’re off-the-shoulder and stunning. I think we’re gonna make them available for people to buy later on.”
Following Sydney’s engagement, Decker took the lead in planning her sister’s bridal shower in June. “We had it in Tennessee where all of our friends and family can go, so that was really special,” the mom of two said. “But now I’m planning her bachelorette party.”
On the actual day of the wedding, Decker has a fail-proof lineup in motion. “Besides the bridesmaids dresses, we’re also designing PJs for the all the bridesmaids to wear for the night before. So those will be really pretty,” she told The Knot. “I just wanted everything to be one-of-a-kind and really special for her. She did so much for my bridal shower. Everything in my wedding. Sydney was on top of it. I don’t think I can even compare to how much she did for me.”
The matron of honor has one mission on the day of the wedding. “For me, it’s making sure she feels the most beautiful she’s ever felt in her entire life,” she told us. “I feel like every bride wants to feel that on their special day. They just want to feel beautiful. I already planned ahead.”
Not only has Decker designed the dresses and pajamas, she’s also helping out in the beauty department. “I’m gonna do her hair. My best friend Jessica Smith is doing her makeup,” the proud big sister said. “We’re going to be collaborating so she looks and feels absolutely perfect. I’m putting my hair up in a ponytail. It’s Sydney’s day.”
And the Deckers are welcoming the groom into the family with arms wide open. “If I had to put together the perfect man for my sister, it would’ve come out as Anthony,” Decker concluded. “I love them together. He adores her, he thinks she’s perfect.”
The couple will marry in early 2017.
