(ABC/Carl Costas)

A Bachelorette success story! JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers are declaring their love to the nation. After keeping their romance under wraps until the August 1 finale, the newly engaged couple is opening up about their relationship.

Before the duo make their way to their new home in Dallas, Texas, they sat down with Good Morning America‘s Lara Spencer. After handing out roses to the GMA crowd, they are ready to share their story.

Looking happy and in love, Fletcher and Rodgers describe going public with their engagement as “surreal.” Fletcher admits to crying while watching Rodgers’ proposal on television. They are grateful to have had the chance to relive that moment, as they were both full of nerves – making the proposal a blur. Looking back now, Rodgers is happy with how he popped the question.

Bachelorette viewers were skeptical as to whether Fletcher and Rodgers’ engagement would last. Before making her ultimate choice on the finale, Fletcher was devastated after breaking up with Robby Hayes. Prior to making her decision, she was concerned she would regret her choice – but it seems Rodgers was able to set her mind at ease.

“The moment he proposed, there was no doubts in my mind,” Fletcher tells Spencer, dispelling any doubts Bachelorette fans may have had regarding her relationship with Rodgers. Fletcher shows off her sparkling engagement ring, still in awe that she can wear it publicly. Rodgers shares that when he saw the ring, he “knew right away” that it was the one.

Rodgers tells Spencer that he began falling for Fletcher a few weeks into the Bachelorette process, but their one-on-one date in Uruguay sealed the deal. He knew he was falling in love with her during a romantic boat ride.

As for the couple’s wedding plans, they are considering a 2017 wedding. Fletcher shares that an on-screen ceremony isn’t out of the question.

“I think both Luke and Chase are great options,” Fletcher shares of her opinion as to who the next Bachelor should be. For now, Fletcher and Rodgers have only one thing on their minds… beginning the next chapter of their love story.

Following the Bachelorette finale, Rodgers took to Instragram to share his feelings for Fletcher with the world. Along with an image of the duo on the beach after becoming engaged, he penned a sweet love note about his future bride.

When you look back at your life it’s those little moments when one decision completely changes the course of your life. A few months ago I took a leap of faith that took me on a journey that lead me to the love of my life. @joelle_fletcher I love you more than anything! You are the most amazing woman on this planet, you are my best friend, and my rock. You are the best thing I wake up to in the morning and the last thing on my mind at night. Today is not the start of our love story, it’s the start of a new chapter. I have grown to love you more and more with every passing day. I loved reliving the greatest day of our life tonight. The day we decided to take on the world together. To be fully committed to each other for the rest of our lives. That seems like a long time, but already I know it won’t be nearly long enough. I never grow tired of laughing, crying, living, and loving with you, and I never will. Here’s to the next 100 years, and a 100 more after that, because no amount of time is ever long enough to spend with the love of your life. You are my everything, and I’m so ready to marry you and do life with you!!

“When you look back at your life it’s those little moments when one decision completely changes the course of your life,” the former NFL quarterback began. “A few months ago I took a leap of faith that took me on a journey that lead me to the love of my life.”

“@joelle_fletcher I love you more than anything!” Rodgers continued. “You are the most amazing woman on this planet, you are my best friend, and my rock. “I never grow tired of laughing, crying, living, and loving with you, and I never will,” the love letter reads. “Here’s to the next 100 years, and a 100 more after that, because no amount of time is ever long enough to spend with the love of your life. You are my everything, and I’m so ready to marry you and do life with you!!”

JoJo woke up on her first morning as a publicly engaged woman ready to take on the world. “Fight for the fairytale, it does exist,” she captioned an Instagram image of the newly engaged couple from the Bachelorette finale.

In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Fletcher and Rodgers shared how difficult their courtship has been while waiting for the finale to air. “I feel like we’ve been in hiding. We do these safe houses,” Fletcher tells Kimmel. “We can only see each other like every couple weeks.”

During the time in between their visits, Fletcher has been busy house-hunting. She found the perfect home for the couple to start making memories in. However, Rodgers is intent on the couple sleeping in his bed, while Fletcher prefers her own.

They may not agree on everything, but the duo has already made one exciting decision since becoming engaged. “I’m gonna take the name ‘Rodgers,'” Fletcher says.

Congrats to the happy couple.
