JoJo Fletcher & Jordan Rodgers’ Families Throw a Surprise Engagement Party for the Couple

More summer surprises! JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers have been publicly engaged for less than a month, but they’re ignoring the naysayers and moving full steam ahead with their relationship — with their loved ones are on board!

The famous couple – who got engaged on the season 12 Bachelorette finale – had planned an intimate dinner with friends this past Saturday, August 20. They were pleasantly surprised to find that the restaurant they had booked was filled with family members and friends ready to celebrate their engagement.

“My heart is so full!” Fletcher captioned a group photo on Instagram during the surprise engagement party. “Jordan and I were going out to what we thought was just a little dinner with friends but instead walked into a room full of both our friends and family to celebrate our engagement. We are so incredibly blessed. #fletchersmeettherodgers,” she added.

Rodgers was just as touched by the gesture. “When you think you are just going to dinner with your fiance and a few friends and you walk into a room full of both your families and best friends! So blessed to not only have found the love of my life @joelle_fletcher, but have an amazing family and new family to share a life with,” he wrote alongside a photo of himself seeing his reaction to the surprise. “So blessed to do life with these people! #fletchersmeettherodgers.”

Both Fletcher and Rodgers have documented their love story on social media since The Bachelorette finale, but it seems they aren’t the only ones who are being vocal about their romance.  Rodgers’ ex-girlfriend Brittany Farrar – who works as a personal trainer – has publicly accused the former professional quarterback of being a “prolific liar and cheater.”

But Fletcher isn’t taking the accusations to heart. She insists that she trusts her husband-to-be. Just before Saturday’s surprise engagement party, she posted a closeup shot of her massive engagement ring, along with the caption, “The best thing to hold onto in life is each other…. & tacos.” The post was met with a mix of thousands of encouraging messages from fans, and some criticism – which the future bride ignored. She has made it clear that she’s on her fiance’s side.

Earlier this month, the couple told The Knot and other outlets in a call that they’re choosing to disregard the drama. “We don’t want to have to defend ourselves when it’s not need. I think that’s in sort of now able to be with each other,” Fletcher told reporters. “Just our relationship in itself will speak volumes. And I think that’s what we’re most looking forward to.”

Her fiance added: “We’re so excited with this next chapter of our life that we can actually share with everybody that’s close to us — not just our closest family and closest friends that we’ve entrusted this secret.”
