Must have been one amusing wedding. Jonah Hill stopped by Live with Kelly on Wednesday, August 3, where he described the daunting experience of officiating Adam Levine’s wedding to Behati Prinsloo back in July 2014.
“It was great,” Hill, 32, told Kelly Ripa and guest co-host Josh Gad. “I was terrified. I’m not a priest or a rabbi or anything like that. So I’ve never done that.”
The Superbad actor went out of his way to get ordained after the superstar couple asked him to officiate. “It was really great,” Hill quipped. “[Adam and I] grew up together and he’s an amazing guy. And his wife Behati.”
There was, however, one caveat. “They were like, ‘One thing: Behati’s dad in South Africa is like a real preacher. This is what he does.’ So I was like, ‘Okay…’”
The couple requested that the Wolf of Wall Street actor give the father of the bride a few minutes to address guests during the wedding ceremony.
“Somehow, I got a little competitive,” Hill joked. “You know? So I was like doing my thing and then he comes up and actually does a good job — like a very moving — like a father marrying his daughter, basically. And then, when he walked away, he gave me a look that was like, ‘Yeah, that’s how it’s done, chump.’”
Levine and the Victoria’s Secret model got married in July 2014, in Los Cabos, Mexico. The stars exchanged vows before 300 guests, including Jason Segel, Candice Swanepoel and Erin Heatherton. They are currently expecting their first child together.
