To say it was an eventful night for the Duggar family is an understatement. After Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth married on Friday, May 26, the bride’s brother Joseph Duggar proposed to Kendra Caldwell during the festivities.
The couple, who’ve now been in their courtship for several months, first shared the news with People. “I’m so happy and so shocked,” the bride expressed. “There’s so many words I want to say, but just shocked.”
In a separate TLC clip, the couple reflected back on the moment. “Kendra and I started our engagement,” Joseph continued. “Yeah, we got engaged.”
According to the Duggar brother, his sister—the bride—did not mind that he proposed at her nuptials. “I asked Joy and Austin a few weeks ago if I proposed to her at the wedding,” he continued. Joseph said that both Joy-Anna and Forsyth encouraged him.
“‘Oh yeah! I love it. Do that,’” they supposedly said.
The future groom concluded, “I think the thing that we’re looking forward to mostly in this chapter of life is that we’ll be able to minister together.”
