Joy-Anna Duggar will soon make her way down the aisle! The Counting On star, 19, announced her engagement to Austin Forsyth on Thursday, March 2, and the couple couldn’t be happier.
“We just got engaged!” the future bride told Us Weekly post-proposal. “I’m so excited to be engaged to my best friend! Austin made it so romantic; it’s amazing.”
Forsyth, who has been courting Joy-Anna since this past November, is looking forward to future. “I’m just overwhelmed with emotion,” he told the publication. “I’m so excited to be engaged, because that means the next step is marriage, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for us!”
Joy-Anna will be the fourth Duggar daughter to walk down the aisle. She and Forsyth have known each other for nearly 15 years, and he proposed the duo’s courtship last year in the woods, under a starry sky. “There was a whole group of us that came up,” Joy-Anna said at the time. “We were just hanging out, and it was really late at night; the stars were just gorgeous.”
Forsyth added: “It’s a place that I’ve come many times to just get away and spend time with the Lord. I just knew that this was the place that I wanted to ask her.”
As per Duggar family rules, the lovebirds are not permitted to kiss until their wedding day, and a chaperone must accompany them on dates. On Counting On‘s season 2 finale, which aired February 27, Forsyth asked for Joy-Anna’s father’s permission to court his daughter. It didn’t take Jim Bob Duggar long to offer his blessing.
Joy-Anna’s older sister Jinger married former soccer player Jeremy Vuolo this past November 5, just days before Joy-Anna and Forsyth announced their courtship.
Season 3 of Counting On is set to air this year. If all goes well, we may see yet another Duggar daughter’s wedding adventures.
