Judd Apatow gave his wife Leslie Mann a hilarious anniversary gift—with a little help from daytime host Ellen DeGeneres.
During a visit to The Ellen Show this week, the producer/director, 49, best known for his work on Freaks and Geeks and The 40-Year-Old Virgin, delivered a hysterical message to his wife, who was tuning in backstage.
DeGeneres led Apatow to a red velvet chaise lounge with a matching heart backdrop, and encouraged her guest to lie down and read from the teleprompter. “Leslie, it’s me Judd… or as I like to call myself, ‘Judd the stud,’” he read from the unrehearsed script. DeGeneres was on hand with a spray bottle and compressed air to lighten the mood.
“Leslie, thinking about you brings tears to my eyes and takes my breath away,” Apatow continued, as DeGeneres shot him with water and air. “You’re the freak to my geek, the 40-year-old to my virgin, and you’re the best mother in the world. Really, you blow me away.”
The father of two added: “I really wish our girls were here to celebrate with us, but this was super last minute so I could only get these guys…”
To the director’s shock, a trio of strippers made their way onstage and began showering him with attention. “I’m very comfortable right now,” he joked. “Is this how we’re gonna spice up year 21? You gotta keep it fresh.”

Apatow made reference to the couple’s intimate 1997 nuptials. “I’m in a man to man sandwich with your name on it,” he mused. “There were only two of us at our wedding; you’ll never let me forget that.”
Mann, 45, joined her hubby as the crowd chanted the couple’s names. The pair will celebrate 20 years of marriage on June 9. Watch the video above.
