Nearly two years after getting engaged, Julianne Hough is married! The Dancing With the Stars judge wed NHL star Brooks Laich on Saturday, July 8, in a lavish evening ceremony in Idaho, according to People.
The pair were surrounded by more than 200 loved ones during the outdoor nuptials. The bride, 28, wore a custom Marchesa gown with a sweetheart neckline, and accessorized with understated jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz. Laich, 34, opted for a classic black-and-white Brooks Brothers tuxedo including a handsome bow tie.
Hough’s father Bruce walked her down the aisle, and her older brother, Derek Hough, served as groomsman. The lovebirds’ adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniels shared the important role of ring bearer. Guests included Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul, dance pro Mark Ballas, and actress Nina Dobrev. “I’ve never seen a man look at a woman like that when they said ‘I Do,’” the Vampire Diaries star gushed. “It took my breath away.”
Following the ceremony, guests made their way to the outdoor reception complete with a cocktail lounge. Music was provided by Los Angeles-based DJ Derek Monteiro, and a custom-designed antique mirror doubled as the dance floor. Guests enjoyed a sweets station, a photo booth and a fireworks display.
Hough and Laich first announced their engagement in August 2015 after a year and a half of dating. Laich proposed on the couple’s deck as they watched a romantic sunset over the lake. “I was so taken aback when Brooks got down on one knee [that] I completely blacked out!” the Grease: Live star reflected on her blog. “All I could do was explode into his arms and experience pure joy from head to toe.”
While Hough never dreamed of her wedding day as a child, she tells People that she’ll always treasure the memories. She concluded, “I know I will always cherish and remember it for the rest of my life.”
