It’s time to tango! Dancing With the Stars judge Julianne Hough says she’s finally focused on planning her upcoming wedding to hockey player Brooks Laich after their August 2015 engagement.
The Safe Haven actress, 28, attended the American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 21, where she shared the latest on their year-long engagement. “You know, it’s happening right now,” she told E! News during the pre-show. “I was literally Instagraming on the way down here, like, ‘Oh, that’s a pretty dress,’ and screen-shotting that, [making] mental notes.”
In a separate interview with Entertainment Tonight, Hough confirmed that she has yet to secure the perfect gown. “I haven’t picked a dress,” the future bride confessed on the red carpet. “We have set a date so that’s good.”

The couple has also discussed another big planning point: Number of guests. “We both want small and intimate, but I come from a very large family so as small and intimate as it can get with my big family,” Hough expressed. (The actress has four siblings including equally-famous big brother Derek Hough.) “We’ve been so blessed and so fortunate over the years that we’ve met so many incredible people in our life. We want to share it with them too.”
The Toronto hockey player, 33, and Grease: Live star first started dating in the winter of 2014 after a mutual friend facilitated that fateful first date. The following August, Laich proposed during a scenic lake house getaway, and adorably marked the one-year anniversary of their engagement this past summer.
“One year ago today I asked this beautiful soul to marry me, and thankfully she said yes!” Laich wrote on Instagram at the time. “I am so grateful to share my life and love with you@juleshough – and I can’t wait to marry you!”
