This A-lister highly recommends it! Actor Justin Theroux is a proponent of secret weddings following his hush-hush nuptials to Jennifer Aniston in 2015.

The Lego Ninjago star, 45, married the beloved Friends actress, 48, at their Bel Air mansion in a low-key ceremony. The couple’s longtime friend Jimmy Kimmel officiated, and only their inner circle witnessed the vows and more. The couple evidently did a wonderful job concealing the private moment from the public; However, they both fondly recall the occasion in various interviews.

“It’s so much more special when it’s just your closest friends and family,” Theroux told Entertainment Tonight this week. “It’s lovely. We wanted it to be a peaceful environment. [We didn’t] want it to be hectic.”

The HBO hunk also appreciated that his fellow Lego cast-mate Dave Franco and his fiancee, Alison Brie, opted for a private wedding. Brie’s rep confirmed the news to The Knot on March 13. “I just found out about that, I didn’t know that that had happened,” Theroux said of his costar’s secret ceremony. “Congrats to him, good for him for making it private.”

Like Theroux, Aniston has previously discussed the merits of a private ceremony. “It was amazing,” she told Yahoo! in October 2015. “We were determined to keep it just private and to ourselves. And the thing is, we haven’t even seen pictures.” (Celeb photographer Terry Richardson shot the 70-person wedding.) “It was just everything we wanted it to be,” she continued. And [we are] very happy that we didn’t have to see our faces on the cover of a magazine.”

In September, Theroux reasoned why his high-profile marriage to Aniston works. “We appreciate each other’s sense of humor,” he told ET at the time. “We respect one another, and we get along.”
