Mr. Husband of the year! Justin Theroux continued his press tour for The Girl On The Train this week, and revealed even more details about his marriage to Jennifer Aniston.
The Leftovers actor who married Aniston in a secret ceremony last August, told the Sunday Times that he could care less about the moniker, “Mr. Jennifer Aniston,” which people have bestowed upon him.
“It doesn’t really get under my skin,” Theroux told the British paper. “It’s just one of those things that’s a shorthand for describing who I am.”
In fact, the proud husband alluded to Aniston’s accomplishments in Hollywood, and her ability to navigate the industry with grace and humor. “[Jennifer] is a proper badass. She has lived through a lot of bulls—t,” said Theroux. “Many people would have crumbled under some of the stresses that have been put on her. I’m very proud of her for that, for the way she handles herself. So in a weird way it’s an honor to stand behind her. Truly, in that sense, she’s amazing.”
The couple recently celebrated their one-year anniversary — and there will be many more festivities down the line. In a separate interview with Entertainment Tonight last week, Theroux opened up about what makes his marriage work. “We appreciate each other’s sense of humor,” he said. “We respect one another, and we get along.”
