Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took time out to enjoy some surf and sun this past Friday, August 5, when he photobombed a wedding in Tofino, British Columbia.
Wedding photographer Marnie Recker was shooting the beachfront ceremony when she noticed Trudeau — clad in a black hat and wetsuit pulled down to his waist revealing his fit physique.
“When the Prime Minister of Canada accidentally photobombs a wedding, he does it with impeccable timing and in full Tofino spirit,” the photographer posted publicly on Facebook, prompting thousands of likes and shares. In the photo, the unsuspecting bride is being escorted down the aisle while her famous (and shirtless!) wedding crasher looks on.
“Justin was quickly leaving the beach at the same time the bride appeared and started coming down the stairs,” Recker explained in a follow-up post. “It was her moment and he respectfully stood aside and witnessed her walk down the aisle to her husband-to-be.”
Although the photographer is thankful to have caught the 44-year old Prime Minister during her clients’ beach wedding, she’s hopeful Trudeau will reach out to her for a photo shoot of his own.
“How do I convince @JustinTrudeau that I am the right photographer for a private family photo session?” Recker asked on Twitter following the nuptials. She has yet to hear from the handsome politician, but she’s not giving up just yet.
“I really want to gift the Trudeaus with a fun family photo session. Promising total privacy,” she shared.
Trudeau may now be considered Canada’s most noteworthy wedding crasher, but he has a sweet love story of his own. He married Sophie Gregoire back in 2005 after the duo dated for nearly two years. The stunning couple, who first met as children, have three children of their own.
