Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki‘s Big Bang Theory characters, Penny and Leonard, eloped in Las Vegas on the season 9 premiere back in September 2015. The adorable on-screen duo decided to make more memories by having a second wedding with family and friends.
Leading up to The Big Bang Theory‘s season 10 premiere, which aired Monday, September 19, the popular CBS sitcom posted a teaser photo on Instagram. “It’s a family affair as The #BigBangTheory’s Leonard and Penny tie the knot…again!” the show captioned the group photo.
All eyes were on the bride in her lace, tea-length gown. The stylists of the show kept Penny’s look simple with a pink and white crown to match her bouquet. She opted for white, pointed-toe flats ideal for the outdoor nuptials.
Along with the Leonard and Penny’s vow renewal, fans were met with even more surprises during the season premiere. Penny’s mom, Susan – played by Sons of Anarchy actress Katey Sagal – joined the crew along with her drug-dealing brother, Randall – played by Jack McBrayer.

Leonard’s mom, Beverly (Christine Baranski) and Sheldon’s mom, Mary (Laurie Metcalf) also returned as guest stars on the show, as well as Penny’s dad, Wyatt (Keith Carradine) and Leonard’s dad, Alfred (Judd Hirsch). Breaking Bad alum, Dean Norris, also made an appearance.
The night of the TV wedding, Cuoco, 30, took to Instagram to share a Polaroid shot of herself standing with her on-screen husband. Galecki, 41, wore a tan suit and his signature glasses.
On the episode, Leonard and Penny’s hand-written vows were comical and sweet. “Leonard, standing here in front of all our family and friends is bringing up a lot of feelings… like what a good idea it was to elope the first time,” Penny mused, “but also how incredibly happy you make me. Thank you for marrying me… hopefully for the last time.”
Leonard then read his vows from a piece of paper he had tucked away in his pocket. “Penny, as a scientist, my job is to figure out why things happen,” he began, “but I don’t think I’ll ever understand how someone like me could get to be with someone like you. Maybe I don’t need to understand it. I just need to be grateful. I love you, Penny!”
Fans may remember Cuoco and Galecki dating off-screen back in 2009 before Cuoco married professional tennis player, Ryan Sweeting. The couple ended their marriage of two and a half year in September 2015. Cuoco is now dating equestrian, Karl Cook – whom she met at a horse show. “I finally found my horse guy,” she shared with The Talk hosts on Thursday, September 15. “It was very meant to be. He’s an amazing rider, amazing equestrian, and a great human. We shared a passion for horses and dogs. It’s been lovely.”
