Nearly one month after Pippa Middleton’s much-talked about wedding, Kate Middleton showed, once more, that the sisters look divine in white and lace. The Duchess of Cambridge showed off her svelte figure in a modified version of Alexander McQueen’s white lace mini dress while attending the Royal Ascot on Tuesday, June 20.
According to online retailer Farfetch, the gown originally retailed for $3,685, and includes “a round neck, three-quarter length sleeves, a concealed rear zip fastening and a flared skirt,” and also features “delicate pleats that ooze femininity.”
The mom of two completed her look with a pair of nude pumps and kept her long hair swept back and under a matching white fascinator.
In April 2011, Middleton stunned viewers worldwide in live broadcasts of her wedding to Prince William. At the time, the royal-to-be similarly donned an Alexander McQueen design, created especially for her by Sarah Burton.
“We put our hearts into it,” Burton told T: The New York Times Style Magazine in 2014. “I respect the intimate nature of that lovely project and I respect the friendships that were forged during it … an instinctive, intelligent, imaginative young woman’s wish for a beautiful dress, or any kind of dress, is the most natural thing in the world.”
The gown featured an ivory satin bodice with 58 buttons of gazar and organza running up the back, as well as a V-cut neckline. Middleton wore her famous locks down loose around her shoulders.
Other royals in attendance Tuesday included her husband, Prince William, as well as Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker-Bowles, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Peter Phillips, Autumn Phillips, Lady Jane Fellowes and Lord Robert Fellowes. The Duke and Duchess rode through part of the parade with Prince Edward and Countess Sophie.
