The engagement of a lifetime. Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson helped a longtime fan execute the perfect proposal this weekend.
The American Idol winner, 34, called a fan named Kiana Clark to the stage on Friday, December 16, during her Miracle on Broadway show. Kiana made her way up with her girlfriend, and launched into a heartfelt speech about the word “home” and what it meant to her.
“I’ve traveled my whole life since I was like, 10 years old,” Clark said. “[But] I never really had a place to call home… until I met Amanda. She’s my home. And we’ve been together for over two years now. We own a house together and there’s no better way to propose than by doing so with the help of Ms. Clarkson here.”
The audience cheered in response. In the background, Clarkson beamed and then shuffled over to the side of the stage to allow the couple to revel in the special moment.
Kiana later uploaded the video to YouTube and added a sweet note about the memory. “Thank you so much to Kelly and her team for allowing me to propose at her VIP Winter Wonderland experience at Miracle on Broadway!” she wrote. “I’m just lucky I was able to even make some sense of my words. Nervous isn’t even the word. I’m so bad with words.. but I promise to SHOW you how much I love you… for the rest of our lives.”
