Ryan Seacrest joined Live at a good time. Producers finally announced the television personality’s addition to Ripa’s talk show as co-host on Monday, May 1. The headline-generating announcement coincidentally fell on the same day as Ripa’s 21st wedding anniversary to Mark Consuelos, so she had a few updates to share with Seacrest on Tuesday morning about how she celebrated.
On the morning of her anniversary, Ripa, 46, kicked off the day by posting a sweet photo with Consuelos. “21 years of lit-ness. (sorry Lola),” she wrote while calling out her daughter Lola. “Happy Anniversary I love you. Big!”
The couple shares three teenage kids, Michael, 19, Lola, 15, and Joaquin, 14—and their youngest child made his parents a hilarious card in honor of their latest marital milestone. “It’s the funniest thing ever,” Ripa teased to Seacrest on Tuesday. “First of all, it’s written on a Father’s Day card.”
She then read the note aloud. “Dear mom and dad, this year has been very prosperous,” Joaquin expressed to his parents. “It has been Gucci being alive so thanks for getting together.”
At one point, Ripa chimed in, “I thought it said ‘preposterous’” as Seacrest broke down into laughter.
Ripa and her husband married at the famed Chapel of the Bells in Las Vegas in 1996. The bubbly personality revisited the spot during a Live segment last summer. “We stood there absolutely terrified. We walked down the aisle together,” she said. “To me, this place is heaven on Earth.”
