She called “Dibs” on a dress! Country singer Kelsea Ballerini is one step closer to walking down the aisle… thanks to her inner circle.
The future bride’s mom and her best friends recently joined forces to plan a surprise wedding dress fitting in Nashville, Tennessee. “My momma and closest friends surprised me with a fitting, and I said yes to the dress with the other loves of my life,” Ballerini, 23, revealed in a new interview with People.
Finding her gown may have been just the motivation the “Yeah Boy” singer needed to start planning her nuptials with fiancé Morgan Evans, who proposed last Christmas. “I still haven’t even thought about [the wedding],” Ballerini said in January. “This year’s so hectic with music that, I don’t know, I don’t think it’ll be a big priority for us quite yet.”
Following the successful fitting, the Grammy nominee took to Instagram, sharing a snap of herself drinking champagne out of glittery gold bottles with her girls. “Said yes to the dress with the other loves of my life,” she wrote.
When it comes to other wedding details, Ballerini certainly wants to buck tradition. “The whole wedding will be pretty untraditional so I think that having a long, white dress is the only traditional part we will have,” she told E! News in June. “I always grew up thinking about my Grammys dress or my award show dress, not a wedding dress… I am excited!”
The Tennessee native plans to have an open bar and karaoke at the reception. “[But] only for the people that aren’t in the music industry,” she joked. “You can’t be good at karaoke; it’s not allowed.”
