A rockin’ union! Newly-ordained minister Kevin Hart officiated a surprise wedding at Rock the Troops in Hawaii, in early December.
The 37-year-old comedian gave a sweet shout-out to his new wife, Eniko Parrish, before performing the on-stage ceremony between Air Force Staff Sergeant, Corey Hitchens, and Marine, Emily Telesca, during the televised event–which aired Tuesday, December 13, on Spike.
“I was blessed to marry the love of my life this year in front of my kids, my friends, and my family,” Hart told the audience of 45,000 military members and their families. “What I wanna do is, I wanna bring that kind of love here. That’s right, people… I, Kevin Hart, the black Casanova… I am going to marry two people right here on the tarmac in front of God and 40,000 members of the military. Are you guys ready to celebrate love with me right now?”
During the nuptials, Hart joked about his newly-ordained status. “By the power vested in me by the state of Hawaii a couple days ago, I now pronounce you husband and wife,” he said as the bride and groom laughed.
Hart joined Rock the Troops host Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and other A-listers at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam to honor the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. After the surprise wedding, singer Katharine McPhee performed “Over the Rainbow” as the newlyweds shared their first dance.
