Back to the beginning! Two years after Kim Kardashian and Kanye West married in Florence, Italy, the couple returned to the country for their second wedding anniversary this week.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 35, took to Instagram on Tuesday, May 24, to share a sweet message for her rapper husband, 38, to commemorate the occasion.
“Happy 2 year anniversary to the love of my life,” the mom of two wrote. “You make me so happy! I love you so much!!!”
The stars flew off to the Eternal City this past weekend to enjoy a glamorous rendition of Giuseppe Verdi’s opera La Traviata in Rome, on Sunday, May 22. The Sofia Coppola-directed opera featured four stunning dresses by designer Valentino Garavani. Kardashian posed for a photo with the legendary designer, who was also supported this week by other celebrities including Olivia Palermo.
Kardashian also posted a shot of herself with her husband from the La Traviata red carpet, spotlighting her mega Lorraine Schwartz diamond engagement ring. Equally enamored by the bright burst of light from her rock, Kardashian added: “My ring shined so bright for our love in Rome while we celebrated our 2 year anniversary in Italy, the country we got married in! #Blessed.”
Kardashian and West tied the knot on May 24, 2014, at the Forte Di Belvedere in Florence, Italy. Kris Jenner’s daughter wore a trumpet-cut white lace gown with a long silk veil by Givenchy Haute Couture while West coordinated in a formal black and white tuxedo by the same designer. The stars exchanged vows in front of towering walls decorated to the brim with lush, cream flowers and were serenaded by close friend John Legend.
The stars share two young children together, 2-year-old daughter North West (who also donned Givenchy at her parent’s wedding in Italy) and their most recent addition 5-month-old son Saint West.
Unlike their low-key first anniversary, their second wedding anniversary was full of glitz and publicity. After attending the star-studded opera in Rome on Sunday, the couple flew to London for the Vogue 100 Gala Dinner on Monday night.
