Bring on the questions. Actress Kirsten Dunst is reportedly engaged to Fargo co-star Jesse Plemons, and she may have quietly corroborated the speculation earlier this month.
On January 2, Dunst attended the 28th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala in California, sporting a ring on that finger. The actress, wearing a custom, pewter-gray, metallic number by Ralph & Russo, accessorized her eye-catching gown with a dazzling, oval-shaped diamond set on a gold band.
Three days later, Dunst opted to wear the suspected engagement ring—again!—this time on The Late, Late Show with James Corden. While on national TV, the former child star did very little to conceal the sparkling object embellishing her left hand.
Page Six first reported on Tuesday, January 10, that Dunst, 34, and Plemons are engaged—but sources told the paper that the pair made the commitment over Golden Globes weekend. Despite the conflicting timeline, Dunst confirmed last year that she wanted to eventually get hitched.
“I am someone who wants to get married,” the Bring It On alum previously told InStyle UK. (At the time, she was still dating actor Garrett Hedlund.) “If it happens in my mid-to-late 30s, it’s going to be intimate.”
According to the future bride, elements would include: “[A] courthouse, dinner party and DJ with friends and family. I’ll treat it like it would be my 40th birthday.”
Plemons, 28, is best known for his portrayal of Landry Clarke on NBC’s Friday Night Lights. He went on to appear on AMC’s smash series Breaking Bad, and appeared opposite Dunst on the second season of FX’s lauded anthology series Fargo.
Dunst’s rep did not respond to The Knot’s request for comment.
