Sloth?! A little over three years ago, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard got married inside a little room at the Beverly Hills County Clerk’s Office. The day–though simple–was evidently emotional, as revealed in a new photo shared by the actress on Thursday, January 26.
Bell took to Instagram to post a #TBT from the emotional day. There’s a spectrum of emotions displayed in the snapshot—Shepard is laughing (as is the officiant), while Bell appears to be… weeping.
“#tbt to when I cried at our wedding and @daxshepard thought it was really funny,” the star captioned the pic.
Bell first revealed details and photos from her courthouse nuptials last July during an interview with CBS News. The Bad Moms star, who with her husband paid $142 for the intimate occasion, wore a simple black dress while Shepard coordinated in a matching suit.
“We got married in a tiny room in the Beverly Hills courthouse, and it was still one of the best days of my life,” Bell recalled in the interview. The star went on express what she loves most about Shepard.

“He’s a wonderful father,” she noted through tears. “He knows the value of things. He was an addict for many, many years and he pulled himself out of it, and he’s been sober for 11, 12 years now… And he knows how many times he’s messed up and how many times he’s been really close to losing everything.”
The two are next appearing together in the Shepard-directed movie CHiPs.
