Fame, fortune, and a true appreciation for the important things in life! Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard were married back in October 2013, and though they could’ve sprung for a high-profile Hollywood wedding, the actors opted to keep it low-key.
Looking back, Bell, 36, has no regrets. “We got married in a tiny room in the Beverly Hills courthouse, and it was still one of the best days of my life,” she said in a new interview with CBS News.
The Bad Moms actress shared a trio of photos from the couple’s $142 courthouse nuptials. In lieu of a traditional white wedding gown, Bell chose a simple black dress, while Shepard, 41, donned a black suit and bow tie.

Since their modest wedding nearly three years ago, the talented duo has managed to build a life together despite their busy schedules. They share two daughters, Lincoln and Delta.

Her acting career is important to Bell, but her family always comes first. She only takes on roles that will keep her close to her children.
“I always think, if I’m on my deathbed, what am I gonna be thinking about? It won’t be some random movie I participated in or some TV show. It will be my family,” the actress tells CBS News.

And Bell isn’t alone in raising the couple’s young children. Shepard prioritizes being a husband and father. “He’s a wonderful father,” Bell says as she wipes away tears. “He knows the value of things. He was an addict for many, many years and he pulled himself out of it, and he’s been sober for 11, 12 years now… And he knows how many times he’s messed up and how many times he’s been really close to losing everything.”
Bell and Shepard aren’t opposed to mixing business with pleasure. They will both star in CHiPs — an action comedy film — slated for release in 2017. They also currently appear in Samsung Electronics ads together.
