Lauren Burnham and former Bachelor star Arie Luyendyk Jr. are getting an early start on their wedding festivities, in the form of one very festive bridal shower this past weekend.
The reality couple, set to wed in Maui on January 12, 2019, celebrated their impending nuptials with close friends and family over the weekend in Burnham’s hometown of Virginia Beach, Virginia. The festivities included everything from a spectacularly decorated luncheon to a yacht ride to a dance floor to keep guests grooving into the early hours of the next morning.
Burnham, 26, was the runner-up on Luyendyk’s season of The Bachelor; he infamously dumped his winner, Becca Kufrin, just weeks into their engagement to pursue a relationship with Burnham. Luyendyk, 36, then proposed to Burnham on that season’s After the Final Rose.
Over the weekend, Burnham giddily shared images and video from the bridal shower to her Instagram, including pink and white cookies decorated with the pair’s names and the date of their wedding; group shots of Burnham with her best gal pals, and the fun caption “we’re getting Maui’d”; and the tropical decorations and food that brought the couple’s dreams of paradise to life.
“Feeling so grateful for my amazing friends and family,” she captioned a collection of sweet photos. “You ladies really know how to make a girl feel special. Thank you for everything you do and for the best bridal shower I ever could’ve dreamt of. Can’t wait till Janularie!! ”
As for Luyendyk, the Bachelor star and race car driver was “kicked out” for the majority of the weekend, according to his Instagram stories. He and the rest of the guys apparently took off for a round of golf while the gals partied it up at the house.
Later in the evening, however, the men did make it back for the celebrations, with Luyendyk even taking a sweet turn on the dance floor with Burnham’s grandmother.
