Lauren Graham helped fulfill a lifelong wish for longtime love Peter Krause and it had to do with his supporting role in the Gilmore Girls revival.
Krause, 51, divulged the details during an interview with Harry Connick Jr. on his daytime show Harry on Thursday, April 20. “When I was a kid, that was one of the things that I wanted to be: I wanted to be a forest ranger or park ranger,” he said.
On the revival, which debuted Thanksgiving Day 2016, Krause had a small role in his girlfriend’s show as a park ranger. The Catch actor told Connick that he was intrigued by the profession for several adorable reasons. First, he wanted to “make sure the bears aren’t stealing picnic baskets… stuff like that,” Krause joked. “I thought it would be cool to be outside, have the truck, make sure everything’s okay, save people.”
Krause’s wish came to life on the ‘Fall’ episode of the Gilmore Girls reboot in a scene of Lorelai Gilmore contemplating whether she should hike the famed Pacific Crest Trail.
Krause and Graham, 49, fell in love while filming Parenthood, on which they played siblings, Adam and Sarah Braverman. “We kept things pretty quiet,” Krause told Kelly Ripa earlier this year.
In her book, Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls (and Everything in Between), Graham revealed how she and Krause became a couple. “At our age we’d probably both been through ‘showmances’ that went south and made work an uncomfortable place to be,” she wrote. “But ultimately, our mutual wariness gave way—it just sort of happened.”
Graham describes her beau as “really, really funny.” She told People: “I mean, he’s really my favorite person to talk to, and he always makes me laugh.”
