He’s a lucky guy. LeBron James’ wife, Savannah James, gave a rare interview about their typically-private marriage on Wednesday, October 26.
The NBA wife, 30, praised her husband after he helped propel the Cleveland Cavaliers to victory for their very first NBA championship ever. “I couldn’t be more proud of LeBron,” Savannah told Essence this week. “He came back and did exactly what he ultimately deep down inside wanted to accomplish for his city. Being back home is a part of what makes us so happy.”
The proud wife discussed what it meant to be so closely involved in her husband’s success. “I’m his support system with whatever he needs. If he needs someone to listen to him,” she shared. “If he needs to talk or if he says, ‘Hey babe, I’m tired. Can I take a nap?’ I will say ‘Yeah, baby. Take a nap,’ and keep the kids occupied. It’s a part of the role that I play as the mother of his kids and being his wife.”
It’s integral for Savannah to create a sense of peace in the household. “The balance that I create in our house is for his success,” she remarked. “He is very busy and I understand that, and the kids are at the age now that they get it. Being there for him is a huge part of his success.”
The couple, who share three kids and currently reside in Ohio, got married in September 2013. Unlike other public figures, King James’ wife is incredibly private. “I do what feels right,” she noted. “I’m a very private person in general. With all the social media outlets, I feel like I have the choice to show you what I want to show you.”
