It was a match made in millennial television heaven when Gossip Girl lead Leighton Meester quietly married The O.C. actor Adam Brody in 2014, but the two have managed to maintain a notoriously low profile, rarely discussing their beloved TV characters, Blair Waldorf and Seth Cohen.
However, they finally admitted that they find humor in the real life match. “Once a year, randomly, on our Seth and Blair day,” Brody joked to Entertainment Tonight. “It’s good for a laugh.”
Meester added, “It doesn’t excite us, I think, because we’re just human beings… but it’s exciting to us that it’s exciting to you. It’s cool.”

Unfortunately, both spouses confessed that they haven’t seen the other’s shows.
The couple resurfaced at a volunteer event in Los Angeles on behalf of Feeding America on Tuesday, June 27, where they advocated giving back to the community. “I mean, lending our name or face certainly brings some level of more awareness, but we also need to know what we’re talking about,” the actor said. “I wanted to be hands-on and I want to be educated and, again, forge a connection.”

Both Meester and Brody dressed down for the company’s Summer Hunger Awareness event, draping aprons over their jeans and T-shirt combos to help unpack food. During their time at Para Los Ninos, the two—along with Tiffani Thiessen—served lunch to 150 kids. The stars then played a game to help educate the sweet group about good and bad foods.
While the kids were noshing on their healthy lunches, Meester and Brody both sat down with the kids to spend some quality time together. The dad of one (to daughter Arlo Day) even engaged in an arm wrestling match, and Meester helped out.

“She’s too little to come here today. She’d be like, ‘I don’t get it,'” Meester said of Arlo, who turns 2 this year. “But I think it’s a really, you know, even for us, this is something we’re sort of even learning about, and I think that it’s really important to show your children that there are different sides to everything.”
The stars first met on the set of 2011 indie flick The Oranges, but started dating in early 2013.
