Liv Tyler lets fans take a peek into her private life revealing her and her fiance David Gardner’s funny engagement story for the first time on ABC’s FABLife.
On an episode airing Friday, December 11 the star of HBO’s The Leftovers shares with hosts Chrissy Teigen and David Zee that Gardner’s proposal was a shock. Why? He got down on one knee right after she stepped out of the shower!
Joking about the circumstances surrounding the sport agent’s sentimental proposal plan, Tyler said that the occasion was “very sweet” and that she was “very surprised,” adding, “I had no idea and I didn’t look very attractive.”
If you, like us, are wondering how on earth could Live Tyler think she was not attractive, well, it’s because Gardner caught her at a very surprising moment!
“’I was pregnant and I was like crying and had just come out of the shower and I was like unpacking,” she told the newly-engaged Zee and pregnant Teigen. “It wasn’t a glamorous moment at all.”
David Zee, comforting the lovely Tyler then followed up with, “I think you think that. But I think in his head it was the most beautiful moment ever.”
Tyler and Gardner started dating in 2012 and have actually been engaged for almost a year, though one of Tyler’s Instagram photos is credited with spilling the news of her fiance status. The photo’s caption reads, “Crazy about my man!!!!! Sweet sweet daddy, friend, fiancé. Thank you!!!!!! Grateful,” along with a sprinkling of heart emoticons.
She told the FABLife hosts, “I was literally just putting a picture of my boyfriend on instagram because I was leaving Monday and I was like so in love with him!” speaking of the photo which shows she and Gardner selfie-style with a blurry diamond engagement ring in view. “They said that I was officially announcing my engagement!”
The 38-year-old Tyler has one child with her fiance Gardner, a son Sailor Gene who was born in February as well as a 10-year-old son Milo from her relationship with Royston Langdon and an 8-year-old stepson from Gardner’s previous relationship with Davinia Taylor.
